Immersive sound art for science communication and public outreach

Vibrational Communication

Working with bioacoustics, field recordings, sound art, data sonification and interactivity, Tremology Lab creates immersive experiences for exhibits and presentations, with the goal of helping listeners relate emotionally to scientific discoveries, natural wonders and environmental concerns.

Immersive Soundscapes for Audience Engagement

Immersive soundscapes can be a creative form of non-verbal communication.

They can incorporate ideas from music therapy about the effect of sound on human emotions.

Sounds can be presented literally, or composers can bend the experience towards something more lyrical and expressive.

The results can be surprising, wonderful, powerful, and effective in creating memorable, emotional connections to the subject matter and goals of an exhibit.

These intangibles can help visitors “feel something so they will do something”, shifting their involvement from merely observing to caring, donating and volunteering.

We use software and computer-controlled audio equipment to position and animate sounds throughout a space as if they are real objects, immersing the listener in an auditory experience that mimics how we experience sound in the real world.

Portable and Temporary Systems

Immersive audio is no longer limited to large venues!

We design and build portable surround-sound systems for exhibitions and events.
